Check out the Work!
As a communications consultancy, we have a variety of tools to achieve your go-to-market strategy, event promotion, and brand recognition project. Each project is unique, but here are some examples of strategic marketing and public relations programs that have been successful and their results.
Dementia Spring Arts Spotlights
Beginning our work together in 2021, Dementia Spring Co-founder Dr. Marc Rothman reached out for help in curating a content marketing strategy to engage artists and community organizers operating at the intersection of creativity and dementia care. The website’s audiences include artists, innovators, health care professionals, caregivers, families, and persons living with dementia.
Our partnership has flourished to >115 published Arts Spotlights through 2025. These Spotlights are user-generated content submitted to the organization regularly, edited, formatted and promoted by the organization to facilitate a community of >540 artists, >900 regular visitors to the website per month, and social media following of >2,5000.
The organization annually awards Fellows working on projects within this scope. Submissions to Fellowship have seen significant growth year-over-year (YOY), ā„30%, since Arts Spotlights began publishing in 2023.
Who Wants to be an Eyecare Millionaire?
The Fundingsland Group reached out to me in advance of this in-person event with a request to increase visibility and the number of registrants. Predominantly with the use of social media marketing, alongside paid media, email marketing, and trade outreach, the number of registrants to the event was increased by ~6x.
The on-demand replay of the event was also accredited, and it was available to the eye care community for continuing education (CE) credit alongside supplemental modules on topics from the event, including dry eye disease, eyelid margin health, and retinal disease.
Creatively, this game show-themed event allowed for the creation of unique trivia in alignment with the theme that also showcased brief moments of the education available in the full course. Importantly, continuing with the brand voice developed around this CE event, we were able to spread the word about this free education to eye care providers in the United States.

Affinity Planning Partners Book Club
Seeking a lead-generation tool, Affinity Planning Partners liked the idea of a quarterly book club that highlighted the financial planning organization’s unique value proposition.
Tailored to their ideal audience, women seeking personal, professional, and financial growth, we put the call out for a quarterly Zoom event taking place on weekdays during the lunch hour. Each book was carefully selected in alignment with Affinity Planning Partner’s values.
Complemented with a LinkedIn group and promoted via email and social media marketing across channels, the book club provides not only an ongoing opportunity for prospective clients to join in a low-commitment way, but also a means of connection among past clients and a conversation-starter among existing clients, creating a quality value-add to the financial advisor’s portfolio.
Editing: ‘Navigating Alzheimer’s: A Roadmap for Taking Charge’
Melanie Cutillo, MSN, CRNP, moved by her personal and professional experience with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, put pen to paper to share what she can with others who are walking the path of caregiving or living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, of which there are more than 7 million in the United States alone, according to the Alzheimer’s Association 2025 Facts and Figures report.
Working with Melanie to copyedit, refine, and shape her narrative was heartbreaking at times, as is the work of dementia advocates like herself. After communicating briefly about where she was in the process and the desired timeline, I got to work over several weeks to read and reread the manuscript, delivering notes electronically for easy incorporation into the next draft.
Melanie had the following to say of the interaction on LinkedIn: “I had the privilege of working with Shannon Simcox, whose exceptional skill and attention to detail elevated my manuscript far beyond what I imagined. Their keen editorial eye, insightful feedback, and ability to preserve my authentic voice while refining clarity and flow made the process both inspiring and educational. Iām deeply grateful for their partnership and highly recommend Shannon Simcox to any author seeking an editor who truly cares about both the craft and the creator.”
